Today I’m so excited to share another to-die-for Holiday recipe: Healthy Hot Chocolate. I’m not kidding when I say that this is the best hot cocoa I’ve ever tasted. It is dangerously delicious, you’ve been warned! This is a perfect Holiday treat to make during these chilly winter days. The recipe below only makes one serving, so double up if you’re making it for more than just yourself. Enjoy!!
Homemade Healthy Hot Cocoa
1 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
pinch of sea salt
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon organic coconut palm sugar
OPTIONAL: Almond milk reddi wip, whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate sauce or candy cane sprinkles!
Combine almond milk, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract and sea salt into a saucepan over high heat, using a whisk to break up any clumps. In a separate, smaller saucepan, combine the heavy whipping cream and coconut palm sugar. Keep stirring each until smooth and piping hot, combine in a mug and serve warm. Top with whipped cream, marshmallows or other toppings if desired!
