CHARLESTON, SC. TRAVEL GUIDE

I just returned home from a week in Charleston, SC & to say it was much needed is an understatement. With everything going on in the world right now it was such a treat to step away & “take a break” from reality. Charleston is such a charming city with so much history, things to do + see & great food to eat!! We packed quite a bit into the short time we were visiting & today I’m excited to share all of my recommendations with you guys. Many of you have sent me messages mentioning that you’re planning a trip to Charleston soon & I’m here to make that a little bit easier on y’all! So without further adieu, here is my guide on where to stay, what to do, where to eat + drink, what to wear & where to take photos in Charleston, South Carolina!

WHERE TO STAY:

There are so many adorable boutique hotels in Charleston, therefore plenty of options when visiting! We decided to stay at The Restoration Hotel because of the rooftop bar views & convenient location right off of King Street (great shopping). But here are some other great spots that I recommend checking out:

WHAT TO DO:

There is so much to do in the charming town of Charleston! I would suggest checking out the rooftop bar views, plethora of outdoor activities & sightseeing via the gorgeous architecture + interiors. Here are a few activities you may consider while visiting Charleston:

  • Rent bikes

  • Visit Hampton Park

  • Colonial Lake

  • White Point Garden

  • Walk around South of Broad

  • Shopping on King Street**

  • Rent kayaks & paddle boards

  • Go sailing

  • Rent a boat**

  • Visit Rainbow Row & the pineapple fountain**

  • Swing on the pier at waterfront park**

  • Pickett park & Pitt street bridge

  • Walk/run the Arthur Ravenel Bridge

  • Boone Hall Plantation

  • Middleton place

  • Tour magnolia plantation

  • Take a historic tour of the city

  • Gibbes museum of art

  • Candle making class at Candlefish

  • Visit art galleries!

  • Go to the beach**

  • Shem Creek

  • Visit the beautiful beach town of Kiawah Island & the ocean course

Oh my goodness the food scene in Charleston is literally unlike any other! You really can’t go wrong with anywhere you choose to eat in this foodie town but here are a few recommendations I got from you guys. The places I visited have an asterisk next to them:
